Gina Ford, Oboe

Oboist Gina Ford is a passionate performer of a wide range of repertoire, from chamber music to orchestral works. She has recently performed with ensembles such as the Utah Symphony, Dallas Symphony in Dallas and on their 2013 European Tour, the New World Symphony, and the Spoleto USA Festival. She has collaborated with artists such as Bob Atherholt, Ben Kamins, and Leone Buyse. In 2016, Gina is featured in a performance and recording of the entire works of Roger Boutry at the International Double Reed Society Convention.

A graduate of Rice University as a student of Bob Atherholt, Gina performed with the Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra in Carnegie Hall. She has also studied at the National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, the Banff Centre, and the National Orchestral Institute. She was a finalist in the 2011 International Double Reed Society Young Artist Competition for Oboe. Prior to attending Rice, Gina completed studies with Erin Hannigan at Southern Methodist University where she earned her BM Oboe Performance, and BA Psychology as a President’s Scholar.

Gina lives in Dallas, TX where she maintains a studio of private students.
